Job Description
Hunterdon Hematology Oncology is a private medical practice that specializes in chemotherapy, infusions, and radiation treatments, as well as innovative treatments like immunotherapy and personalized targeted therapy to provide the best possible outcomes for our patients.
We are seeking a reliable, full-time Charge Entry Specialist to join our billing team. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently.
*This is an in-person position. Candidates must live within a commutable distance from our office in Flemington, NJ.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enter all office visit, virtual visit, and hospital charges.
- Run reports in Waystar and make necessary corrections to any claim errors and/or rejections, then resubmit the claims.
- Document all pertinent information in NextGen relating to patients' claim issues.
- Contact insurance carriers to verify patients' insurance eligibility and/or benefits when needed.
- Return patient, coworker, manager, and insurance company rep phone calls and other inquiries in a timely manner.
REQUIREMENTS
- 3 years of medical billing experience
- Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS Level II, and ICD-10 codes (Medical Coding Certification preferred)
- Knowledge of commercial payers
- Microsoft Office
- Google Suite
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Detail-oriented
- Experience with NextGen (preferred)
- Experience in Oncology (preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
