Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Drafter to support product engineering efforts by creating and modifying 3D models, technical drawings, and specifications. This role plays a key part in maintaining engineering data integrity and ensuring proper configuration control across a variety of mechanical product lines. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with CAD software, a solid understanding of drafting standards, and the ability to collaborate within an engineering and manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Create 3D models and 2D drawings based on measurements, sketches, existing drawings, and laser scan data
- Process engineering change requests using CAD tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Apply ASME Y14.5 standards, including GD&T, to develop and revise technical drawings
- Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs), including part numbers, revisions, and release data
- Develop and complete technical specification documentation for internal and external use
- Support engineering change management processes to ensure configuration control and data accuracy
- Provide technical support to manufacturing and cross-functional teams to resolve product-related issues
- Assist in the design, development, and launch of product improvements in compliance with regulatory and customer requirements
- Support certification activities, including testing and documentation for regulated products

Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Drafting, Design Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 drafting standards, including GD&T
- Experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Understanding of mechanical components and manufacturing processes (casting, machining, stamping, molding, etc.)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access)
- Experience using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced experience with SolidWorks
- Experience working with regulated products or within highly controlled industries (e.g., aerospace, aviation, etc.)
- Familiarity with certification processes and testing standards

Salary : $50,000 - $70,000
