A Brief Overview
The Compliance Analytics Analyst builds and runs the analytics backbone of the compliance program—integrating Yardi, Workday, and other data sources to create dashboards, exception detectors, and "smart sampling" that enable targeted testing, faster root‑cause analysis, and measurable risk reduction.
What you will do
- Translates work‑program requirements into repeatable datasets and dashboards for maintenance/EHS (WO categories, timeliness, NDAA, PM, amenities/safety), leasing (ADA, addenda, damage fees), and procurement/vendor (P‑Card, PO timing/contract verification, vendor classification).
- Implements anomaly/exception logic and “smart sampling” methods to focus reviews on outliers with high-risk signals; documents detection rules and updates with process/policy changes.
- Builds monthly KPI suites and SteerCo‑style packets (exception rates, cycle time to remediate, on‑time completion, trend analysis) aligned to Business Sponsor expectations.
- Partners with Maintenance and Vendor Management to integrate SOPs, QA/QC checks, and data needed for government‑ready narratives and reports.
- Enables AI‑assisted analysis (e.g., Copilot/Azure AI) to accelerate population‑level scans, P‑Card merchant/memo parsing, and exception narratives.
- Maintains data dictionaries, field standards, and lineage for each oversight topic; implements change‑control and versioning across dashboards and rulesets.
- Supports CAPA tracking and closure evidence through analytics, including owner assignment, deadlines, and trend re‑tests after remediation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college with a focus in Business Administration, Project Manager, or other related discipline. Preferred or
- 4-6 years experience in compliance analytics, internal audit analytics, or ops analytics in regulated housing/real estate; strong Yardi expertise and advanced Excel preferred; SQL/BI tools preferred. Required and
- 4-6 years experience building dashboards and exception‑detection logic for compliance or audit use cases; familiarity with AI‑enabled analysis is a plus. Required
- 1-3 years familiarity with AI‑enabled analysis is a plus. Preferred
- Control and data mindset; pattern recognition; clear exception narratives; stakeholder orientation; change‑control discipline.
- Ability to identify problems, collect and analyze data and draw logical conclusions.
- Strong communication skills to present findings and influence program decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to convert policy/work‑program rules into code‑like logic and to support root‑cause analysis with evidence.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Analytical and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills including, proficient in use of Excel and MS Office.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Requires a detail-oriented, independent thinker who can be a part of a team and demonstrate knowledge of operations procedures.
