Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of dishes, cookware, utensils, kitchen equipment and sweeping and mopping floors, using proper sanitizing procedures to maintain hygiene standards.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as washing vegetables, peeling, and basic ingredient handling under supervision.
- Ensuring kitchen and warehouse areas are clean, well organized and stocked.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers, sinks, and manual tools like knives, following all safety protocols.
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies and moving stock to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Follow food safety management practices to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with sanitation regulations.
- Contribute to maintaining overall sanitation of the kitchen environment by adhering to health and safety standards consistently.
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of food handling procedures, sanitation practices, and food safety regulations is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including lifting heavy objects safely.
- Familiarity with operating basic kitchen equipment such as dishwashers and cleaning tools.
- Excellent attention to detail in cleaning and maintaining hygiene standards across all areas of the kitchen.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while following health and safety guidelines.
- Strong teamwork skills with a proactive attitude towards supporting kitchen staff and ensuring a clean, safe workspace.
