HGA is seeking an EHS Specialist to support client operations in Casa Grande, Arizona. This role is a direct hire opportunity that is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations while implementing programs that protect employees, the community, and the environment.
ResponsibilitiesSupport the EHS Manager in responding to and coordinating with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies
Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure regulatory compliance
Conduct EHS audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations and develop corrective and preventive actions
Partner with cross-functional teams to address EHS compliance gaps and improvement opportunities
Deliver EHS training and awareness to promote a safe and healthy workplace
Coordinate occupational health screenings, including respiratory fit testing, and ensure records are current
Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date EHS records and reporting documentation
Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct drills
Manage hazardous waste disposal processes and EHS related vendors
Monitor regulatory updates and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement
Participate in industry groups and professional associations as applicable
Implement and maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
Perform additional duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of EHS experience, preferably within chemical manufacturing
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations
Demonstrated understanding of EHS principles, policies, and procedures
Experience developing, implementing, and managing EHS programs
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills
Clear written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Professional EHS certification such as CSP or CIH
Experience in chemical manufacturing or related industrial environments
Experience with EHS data management or reporting systems
Experience with environmental permitting and regulatory reporting
Working knowledge of ISO 14001 environmental management systems
Working knowledge of ISO 45001 safety management systems
Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage multiple priorities
Regularly required to talk and hear
Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate tools or controls
Occasional standing, walking, sitting, and reaching
Ability to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and focus adjustment
Work environment noise levels are typically moderate
