Position: Nanny / Family Assistant
Location: Beachwood, OH 44122
Start Date: Flexible for the right person, but must be in place by August 24 when school begins. Ideally, start date would be before then for a smooth transition.
Compensation: Up to $28/hour, based on experience and fit
Schedule Options: We are open to two possible schedules, depending on the candidate’s availability and strengths:
- After-School Nanny
- Monday–Thursday: 3:30 PM–6:00 PM
- Friday: 2:30 PM–6:00 PM
- Nanny / Family Assistant
- Monday–Friday: 11:00 AM–6:00 PM
About Our Family
We are a dual-physician household, and both parents work at Case Western. Because of the nature of our professions, reliability, strong judgment, and alignment with our family’s values are especially important. We are looking for someone who is dependable, proactive, warm, and capable of helping our home run smoothly.
We are seeking a long-term fit who can become a steady, trusted presence in our children’s lives.
Our Children
We have four children- care is only needed for the older 2 children. Parents pick up the younger two from daycare on their way home from work. The only time care is needed for the younger two is if there’s a day of no school or someone is mildly ill and you want to provide coverage.
- 6-year-old daughter (entering 1st grade)
- Extremely social, curious, active, and engaging
- Enjoys after-school activities including dance, tennis, and rock climbing
- Loves math, workbooks, and staying busy
- Has very mild asthma and has an inhaler available, though it is rarely needed
- 4-year-old son (entering Pre-K)
- Sweet, observant, artistic, and easygoing
- Loves sports, being outside, baseball, basketball, painting, and creative play
- 2.5-year-old
- Has an egg allergy (cannot eat straight eggs, but baked goods are fine)
- 4-month-old baby
Typical Responsibilities
Depending on the schedule, responsibilities may include:
Childcare
- School pickup and transportation to nearby activities
- Supervising after-school routines
- Preparing snacks
- Engaging the children in play, outdoor time, art, games, workbooks, and other enriching activities
- Supporting a calm, positive environment and helping children navigate big feelings
- Keeping children active and involved while also recognizing when they need downtime
Family Assistant Duties
For candidates interested in the longer daytime schedule, duties may also include:
- Laundry
- Light housekeeping
- Light meal/prep
- Running errands
- Traditional FA duties
Driving
- Driving is required
- School pickup is about 5 minutes away
- Activities are all very close by
- Nanny uses her own vehicle
- Mileage reimbursement and car-related details can be discussed
- We can provide or purchase any necessary car seats
