Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Furniture Repair Technician/Handyman to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for restoring, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of furniture pieces, ensuring they meet quality standards and customer expectations. Your expertise will help breathe new life into damaged or worn furniture, providing exceptional craftsmanship and service. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about woodworking, upholstery, and general handyman tasks to showcase their skills in a fast-paced environment. There will also be handyman jobs aside from furniture repair jobs.
Duties
- Assess furniture items to determine repair needs based on visual inspection and blueprint specifications
- Perform upholstery repairs including reupholstering tools, and upholstery techniques
- Use hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools to execute repairs accurately and efficiently
- Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to guide manufacturing or repair processes when provided
- Conduct woodworking tasks such as cutting, sanding, assembling, and refinishing furniture components
- Handle heavy lifting safely during the movement of furniture pieces in custome’s home when necessary
- Refinish or restore furniture surfaces using appropriate techniques for leather, wood, or fabric materials
- Utilize manual handling skills for fabric materials and upholstery components during repair or reupholstering projects
Skills
- Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality repairs and finishes
- Proficiency in upholstery techniques including reupholstering, sewing, fabric cutting, and repairing fabric materials
- Experience with woodworking, assembly, and auto restoration is a plus
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately if necessary
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and sewing machines
- Knowledge of leather care and repair methods for different upholstery surfaces
- Capable of manual handling of heavy furniture items safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes related to furniture repair or custom fabrication
