Position Title: EMS Assistant Supervisor – Trinity Regional Medical Center Satellite Ambulance Location
Reports to: Jordan Erie, EMS Director
Job Summary
Humboldt County Memorial Hospital is seeking a qualified and motivated EMS Assistant Supervisor to oversee ambulance operations at the Trinity Regional Medical Center (TRMC) satellite location. This role supports EMS personnel, equipment, vehicle maintenance scheduling, inventory, billing, scheduling, and staffing functions — ensuring safe, efficient transportation of patients with compliance to all regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily ambulance operations at the TRMC satellite base.
- Function as an advanced level provider transporting patients’ long distances
- Ensure compliance with all applicable hospital, county, state, and federal EMS regulations and protocols.
- Participate in TRMC-department meetings as requested.
- Assist with EMS billing processes, including documentation review and coordination with billing staff.
- Manage EMS staff scheduling, including shift coverage, time-off requests, and on-call needs.
- Maintain accurate records of staffing, runs, and operational activity.
- Oversee EMS inventory including medical supplies and pharmaceuticals; conduct routine inventory checks; coordinate ordering and restocking.
- Schedule vehicle maintenance appointments and keep complete tracking and documentation of routine service, inspections, and repairs
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and orientation of EMS staff.
- Support performance management efforts including evaluations and coaching
Qualifications
Required:
- Currently licensed as a Paramedic or Registered Nurse in the state of Iowa
- Current certifications in CPR, ACLS, PALS and Mandatory Reporter training
- Valid driver’s license with appropriate transportation
- Proficiency with computer programs including Microsoft Excel, scheduling tools, and record systems
- Must pass a required background check, which includes Child and Dependent Adult Abuse, criminal record and driving record checks
- 3 years’ experience in direct patient care
Preferred:
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience in EMS or healthcare operations
- Familiarity with EMS billing and regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of medical transport services and logistics

- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
