The Spay Station is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preventing the unnecessary suffering and euthanasia of cats and dogs caused by overpopulation and preventable disease. We are seeking veterinarians to join our new, high-quality, high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter clinic serving north central West Virginia.
The demand for affordable services is overwhelming, and our work directly reduces shelter intake and euthanasia rates across the region.

Schedule Options
- Full-Time: Four days per week or Five Days per week (variable)
- Part-Time: Flexible scheduling available
- Relief: Per diem shifts available
- No holidays
- No on-call responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough pre-surgical physical examinations
- Administer and oversee pre-surgical medications and anesthesia protocols
- Perform high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter surgeries (up to 40 dogs and cats per day)
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records
- Supervise surgical staff and veterinary assistants
- Assist with documentation and management of clinic policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with West Virginia Veterinary Board and AVMA standards
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from an accredited university
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in West Virginia
- Commitment to reducing companion and community animal overpopulation
- Strong decision-making and communication skills
- Professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, team-oriented mindset
- Commitment to practicing high-quality medicine and upholding veterinary ethics
Preferred but Not Required:
- Experience in high-volume spay/neuter surgery
- Background or interest in shelter medicine
