This role is responsible for both the strategy and execution of multi-channel fundraising campaigns that deepen donor relationships and drive sustainable giving.

This role is responsible for both the strategy and execution of multi-channel fundraising campaigns that deepen donor relationships and drive sustainable giving.
The manager is also a critical contributor to donor cultivation strategies, including donor transition or “moves” to expand giving potential. Through thoughtful use of data and systems, this role ensures consistent and effective donor stewardship and informs solicitation strategies that strengthen retention and growth. The manager reports to the Director of Philanthropy and supervises the CRM Administrator and the Donor Relations Associate.

Summary of Responsibilities
Fundraising and Campaign Management
- Lead the planning and execution of multichannel fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, email, online, and onsite giving programs.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive annual calendar of fundraising appeals and communications.
- Write and oversee compelling donor communications, including appeals, email, and stewardship content.
- Manage end-of-year campaigns including Colorado Gives Day, from strategy through launch and post-campaign acknowledgement.
- Manage digital campaigns, including email segmentation, list manager, and performance tracking.
- Oversees donation forms and online giving platform to ensure a seamless donor experience. Manage external vendors and internal tools to deliver campaigns on time and on brand.
- Foster a culture of giving across the organization by supporting onsite and internal engagement efforts.
- Contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven culture that values accountability, creativity, and continuous improvement.
Donor Cultivation and Stewardship
- Leverages CRM (Salesforce) to operationalize donor portfolios, ensuring consistent stewardship and data-driven solicitation strategies.
- Partner with philanthropy leadership to support donor “moves management” and pipeline development.
- Develop and implement initiatives to acquire, retain, and reactivate donors.
- Oversee donor acknowledgement processes to ensure timely, accurate, and meaningful recognition.
- Encourage new donors; research, evaluate and recommend upgrades to online giving technology.
- Supports stewardship strategies for mid-level donors in collaboration with the broader philanthropy team.
- Research and implement best practices to strengthen donor engagement and long-term giving.
Collaboration and Leadership
- Supervise and coach team members, providing ongoing feedback, support, and professional development.
- Partner across the department (events, marking, communications) to align messaging and donor experience.

Qualifications
Education/Experience
High school diploma or GED and a minimum of one year of nonprofit fundraising and/or sales experience is required. An undergraduate degree with major or minor in business, non-profit management, communications, or related field is preferred. Must possess a Colorado Driver’s License with an insurable driving record.

Working Conditions
The work environment is primarily an office setting, with regular computer and phone use. Frequent exposure to animals; potential for animal bites and scratches, zoonotic diseases, and cleaning agents. Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs., and regular physical activity including walking, standing, bending, and stooping. Periodic driving of HSBV vehicles may be required.
What We Offer
The anticipated pay range for this position is $65,000 to $72,000 earned annually. This pay range is the Humane Society of Boulder Valley’s best estimate for this role and actual compensation will be based on factors including but not limited to the depth and extent of relevant experience, additional training/certifications for preferred skills, and education.
