Floater Assistant Teacher, Full-Time (11-12 Month Position)

Human Services, Inc. is looking for a compassionate, energetic, and organized Assistant Teacher to join our Head Start team. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with children, values teamwork, and is passionate about helping families thrive.
What You’ll Do
As an Assistant Teacher, you’ll play an active role in creating a warm, safe, and engaging learning environment. Your days will include:
- Supporting classroom teachers in delivering lessons and daily routines
- Helping children with meals, diapering, toileting, and transitions
- Planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that spark learning and play
- Conducting health checks and promoting healthy habits (like daily toothbrushing!)
- Ensuring every child feels valued, respected, and encouraged to grow

What We’re Looking For
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Comfort working in an active role—lifting, bending, and moving with children
- Must pass a physical exam, TB test, CPR/First Aid certification, and fingerprint/background check
Preferred: Previous teaching or childcare experience, plus a CDA already in hand.
