The Payroll Accountant ensures that wages are paid in accordance with standard payroll practices and that all applicable taxes are withheld in accordance with local, state, and federal laws. - Full cycle processing of semi-monthly payroll in Costpoint and ADP.

- Maintain employee data in Costpoint and ADP related to the following: new hires, terminations, transfers, salary adjustments, direct deposits, and tax withholdings.
- Ensure semi-monthly disbursement of payroll is processed in accordance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
- Review and audit payrolls, including gross pay, hours worked, vacation accruals, tax deductions, benefits deductions, garnishments, etc. Make necessary corrections prior to final payroll approval and transmission.
- Process electronic timesheets: ensure accuracy of all employee timekeeping records.

- Facilitates accurate and timely delivery of employer contributions and employee payroll deductions to carriers, plan administrators, or other appropriate service providers.
- Create user profiles in Costpoint for New Hires, ensuring access to portals and modules needed.
- Facilitate Timekeeping and Payroll Orientation meetings to support New Hire onboarding.
- Maintain Company Work and Pay Schedules in Costpoint Time and Expense.
- Generate various payroll reports, such as payroll summaries, wage statements, and tax reports.

- Reconcile quarterly and annual tax returns as prepared by ADP to ensure accuracy prior to submission, including employee W-2s.
- Collaborate closely with Human Resources team for compliance and regulatory reporting requirements, coordination of benefits and payroll, and ensure consistency of employee data across ADP and Costpoint platforms.
- Support HRIS updates, census submissions, and payroll-related benefits coordination.
- Completes records, reporting, and other documentation required by federal, state, and provider rules, regulations, and policies.

- Support month-end close process to include preparing and entering adjusting journal entries into Costpoint, performing account reconciliations, and preparing accounting workpapers.
- Lead workers compensation, 403 (b), and external audits.
- Keep current in federal and state laws affecting payroll.
- Ensure that all tax (taxability codes) and deduction files within accounting system are set up properly and in accordance with both taxing authorities and the structure of company's policies.
- Support project and account setup and post award project accounting as assigned.
- BA/BS degree in any related discipline
- 5 plus years of relevant experience for government contractor
- Experience with ADP WorkForce Now preferred
- Experience and proficiency working with Deltek Costpoint is an advantage
- Experience as an HRIS system administrator
- Ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision

Salary : $73,000 - $115,000
