As a Human Resources Assistant (Time and Attendance), you will provide support to USCIS customers on a range of time and attendance related duties to include: routine reporting, auditing, customer service, and timesheet maintenance.

Qualifications:

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 04/24/2026.

Time in Grade does not apply to Delegated Examining Announcements, any reference to Time in Grade in the questionnaire will not apply to the rating and ranking of applicants.

GS-05: You qualify at the GS-05 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-04 level in the federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the of the following duties:
  • Retrieving information from databases and/or spreadsheets;
  • Reviewing forms and files for missing data, completeness, and accuracy;
  • Referring inquiries about specific issues or actions to the appropriate personnel. OR
  • You may substitute successful completion of 4 years above high school for the experience required at the GS-05 grade level. This education must have been obtained from an accredited college or university. One year of full-time undergraduate study is defined as 30 semester or 45 quarter hours.
GS-06: You qualify at the GS-06 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the of the following duties:
  • Preparing and issuing standardized reports to organizational or agency officials;
  • Remaining up to date on policies and regulations;
  • Researching and resolving routine customer service inquiries.
GS-07: You qualify at the GS-07 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-06 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the of the following duties:
  • Preparing unique and standardized reports for organizational or agency officials;
  • Identifying, researching and resolving routine human resources or customer service complaints;
  • Reviewing and processing employee personnel documentation to ensure accuracy;
  • Conducting presentations on various administrative items.
GS-08: You qualify at the GS-08 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the of the following duties:
  • Communicating time and attendance and pay regulations to all levels of staff;
  • Researching and resolving complex time and attendance and leave issues;
  • Creating and conducting trainings or presentations;
  • Implementing new human resource rules, procedures and technical methods.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
