What are the responsibilities and job description for the TABE Specialist/Test Administrator position at Human Learning Systems?
The Scheduling/Test Administrator position provides support for a U.S Department of Labor Job Corps contractor. The Job Corps program is a federally-funded residential training program. The mission of Job Corps is to provide career-ready technical and academic training and job placement assistance to program eligible youth ages 16-24.
Summary of Duties: Responsible for student schedules and class accountability. In addition, helps to administer the Center’s TABE program. All functions are handled in compliance with DOL, Corporate and Center requirements.
Description of Duties:
- Follows all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensures no manipulation of student data.
- Ensures that each trainee tests on time. Schedules and administers the TABE test as required and necessary.
- Completes copying, typing and filing as requested and needed: Produces clear copies of requested materials. Proofreads typed documents prior to returning to originator. Prepares weekly reports and other reports required by the DOL, Corporate Office and Center.
- Schedules and attends office meetings, sends out required reports, runs office errands.
- Attends training, works in lieu of other secretaries and clerks on an as-needed basis, helps distribute student pay, assists with special printed projects, acts proactively, completes tasks in a timely and proficient manner, tracks and follow through on action items, exercises good judgment and problem-solving skills on manager’s/director’s behalf, and other comparable duties.
Monitors Student’s Behavior: Ensures proper conduct of students in all areas. Assists staff with behavior problems coordinating referrals to PBSO as required. Creates methods and programs to motivate constructive trainee behavior. Maintains awareness of the individual needs of various minority and cultural groups. Monitors accountability process.
Develops Students: Establishes high level of mutual trust and support with others. Expresses positive expectations of others, even in difficult situations. Creates a learning atmosphere. Reassures and encourages performance improvement. Provides timely coaching. Identifies successes and areas of improvement. Participates on a center committee.
