Job description
The High School Diploma Instructor position provides instructional support for a U.S. Department of Labor Job Corps contractor. The Job Corps program is a federally-funded residential training program. Job Corps' mission is to educate and train youth ages 16-24 for successful careers in the nation's fastest-growing industries.
Summary of Duties:
The High School Instructor is responsible for providing students with industry recognized instruction, certification, and training, leading to full-time jobs, higher education, or advanced training.
Significant Responsibilities:
- Develops and prepares lessons.
- Recommends curriculum changes and supplemental materials.
- Works with the disability accommodation team to review accommodations and make recommendations for changes or modifications to accommodations.
- Adapt and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
- Ensure the classroom is well organized and conducive to student learning, while holding students accountable for following dress code/behavioral standards of conduct.
- Represent knowledge/information non-linguistically through a variety of methods.
- Utilize intervention strategies with students to promote positive behaviors.
- Documents student’s progress in case notes at least monthly.
- Maintains required certifications and/or licenses including a valid driver’s license and insurance when required by position.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Teaching certification in the state of Arizona
