Assistant Area Manager - Environmental Services

Hull's Environmental Services is looking for an Assistant Area Manager (operations) experienced and knowledgeable in the field of environmental services. This position requires previous experience in emergency spill response, site remediation, field and industrial services, and hazardous and non-hazardous waste management. In addition the Assistant Area Manager will assist the Area Manager with health & safety compliance, income & expense management, personnel management, and developing new business opportunities.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Ensures all employees maintain a safe workplace and comply with company health and safety policies and procedures. Supports H&S training, H&S programs, incident investigations, etc.

Provides direction, training and coaching to field service crews.

Plans the work; prepares schedules, organizes personnel, resources and equipment.

Manages company jobs on budget and on time; accountable for successful completion of project.

Conducts and attends project meetings necessary to manage jobs.

Identifies on-the-job issues, reviews with crews and management, implements solutions.

Communicates with customers daily to assure quality of service. Assures that change orders are communicated and approved before additional work is conducted.

Assists the Area Manager in managing the expenses, labor utilization, and equipment expenses of the service center.

Ensures that all equipment maintains the highest level of compliance as it relates to DOT, maintenance and safety. Ensures that drivers maintain 100% compliance for driver's logs, trip & dispatch, etc.

Maintains up-to-date DOT, OSHA and company required training.

Ensures all required job paperwork; timesheets, tailgate safety briefings, waste manifests, daily reports, etc. are completed.

Skills & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Two-year degree in the trades, business or environmental industry preferred
• Minimum of (4) years environmental services industry experience required
• Hands on field experience in equipment operation and crew supervision required
• Ability to use and wear Personal Protective Equipment
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
• Experience in use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Good verbal and written communication skills; able to speak effectively to employees, vendors, customers
• 40-Hour OSHA certified
• P&L management, scoping & estimating, forecasting
• Ability to work nights and weekends and to travel out of town on short notice for extended periods of time
