Position Goal

Accurately schedule and maintain appointments in a very fast-paced, high volume environment.

Position Responsibilities

• Answer multi phone lines and return messages in a timely manner
• Accurately enter patient demographics and insurance information
• Accurately learn each physician’s protocol and apply during scheduling
• Accurately triage and schedule patients with the correct physician
• Accurately maintain physician schedules to include canceling and rescheduling
• Maintain effective oral/written communication with patients, physicians and staff concerning patient appt needs
• Request records and prepare for physician review
• Collect prepayments when required for an appointment
• Collect on all outstanding balances or balances that are in collections prior to scheduling appointment.
• Accurately prepare and initiate daily call reminder system
• As schedule requires, monitor various office equipment for incoming records and file for upcoming appt.
• Assist Office Manager on daily procedures.
• Open and distribute mail.
  
  

Experience

Required:

• Six (6) months experience working in a medical office setting required.
  
  

Preferred

• Experience with multi-line phones preferred.
  
  

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Special Qualifications:

• Must have working knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must have knowledge of the healthcare field and medical specialty.
• This position requires local travel via personal vehicle so a valid driver's license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record upon hire are required (MVR will be screened on an annual basis.)
