CNC Machinist, 1st Shift: Rockford, IL
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join a growing manufacturing team in Rockford. This position is ideal for a skilled machinist who is comfortable setting up and operating CNC equipment, reading blueprints, making machine adjustments, and ensuring finished components meet quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate 3-axis CNC mills and CNC lathes
- Read and interpret blueprints, designs, and specifications
- Work with preset CNC programs and formulas for mills and lathes
- Read and interpret CNC programs and utilize G-code
- Select appropriate tool holders and cutting tools for each job
- Calculate and make necessary measurement corrections for component parts
- Use MDI to adjust or modify temporary programs as needed
- Inspect first-article and in-process parts using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring equipment
- Perform machine adjustments to maintain quality and production requirements
- Deburr, clean, and inspect completed parts
- Accurately complete production and quality records
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation and shop area
- Follow applicable industry and government safety standards
Skills & Experience:
- Education: HS Diploma required
- Experience: 5 years of CNC machining experience required; experience working on CNC Haas machines preferred
- Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret blueprints required
- Software: Experience with Mastercam highly preferred
