Accounts Payable Specialist: Browntown, Wisconsin
Our customer in Browntown, Wisconsin is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their accounting and finance team. This position supports key financial functions including cash flow forecasting, month-end reporting, inventory reconciliation, manufacturing cost analysis, and accounts payable activities. The ideal candidate will have recent manufacturing accounting experience, strong ERP and Excel skills.
Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable:
- Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts and assist with financial planning activities.
- Generate monthly financial reports and plant performance statements.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Maintain fixed assets and tooling records.
- Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits.
- Support quarterly physical inventory counts and inventory reconciliation efforts.
- Assist with accounts receivable functions and provide backup support for accounts payable and customer invoicing.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, and overhead expenses.
- Monitor inventory valuation and investigate cost variances.
- Review manufacturing variances including labor efficiency, material usage, scrap, and production costs.
- Partner with operations and leadership teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial visibility.
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to financial processes and reporting.
Accounts Payable Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment required.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and their impact on financial performance.
- ERP/MRP system experience required.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, inventory accounting, and cost analysis.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Pay for Accounts Payable: $50,000-$60,000/year.
