Sitework Laborer

Hughes Bros., Inc. is a Commercial Sitework Contractor, who performs excavation and backfill of commercial buildings, parking lots, sidewalks, landscaping, underground utilities, and other aspects of commercial site work.

Job Title: Sitework Laborer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Sitework Laborer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations at a construction site, contributing to the timely and efficient completion of sitework projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with site preparation, including clearing, layout, excavation, grading, and landscaping.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools, as well as some heavy machinery, under supervision.
• Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas.
• Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks
• Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are safely stored and in working order.
• Follow all safety protocols on the construction site to minimize risk of injury.
• Participate in on-site safety training sessions.
• Support the team with general labor duties as required.
• Work in varying weather conditions and be prepared for physical labor.

Qualifications:

• No formal educational requirement; high school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in construction or a similar field is a plus.
• Ability to operate tools and machinery with precision.
• Physical stamina and strength.
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Team player with strong work ethic.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the role.
• Positive Attitude.
• Valid Driver's License is Required.

Work Environment:
The work involves physical labor at construction sites. The laborer may be exposed to various weather conditions, dust, noise, and must be able to perform physical tasks over extended periods. While challenging at times, you have the ability to be outdoors and build the foundation of the Greater Bangor Region, with the ability to physically observe the sites you help build and develop a sense of pride with the team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 – 55 per week
