Summary
The Human Resources Director is responsible for to plan, coordinate and administer policies and procedures relating to all aspects of Human Resources at Hugh Chatham. Plans and develops a Human Resources Benefits Program and establishes methods for its implementation and ongoing support. Develops resources and procedures for orientation of new employees. Establishes uniform employment policies and engages with management and staff to create a professional, high quality workplace environment. Plans and supports worker’s compensation programs and employee wellness programs.
Education and Formal Training: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred, PHR designation preferred.
Work Experience: Minimum of five (5) years progressive human resources experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Demonstrates a high level of mental and emotional tolerance and even temperament when dealing with ill people; uses tact, sensitivity, sound judgement, and a professional attitude when relating with patients, families, and co-workers at all times. Actively functions as a patient advocate. Ability to type 55 WPM and possess personal computer skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Word or comparable word processing software. Able to use Excel for spreadsheets or graphs. Able to compose business letters and memos. Exceptional public relations skills and ability to maintain a professional posture at all times. Must develop knowledge of current hospital emergency policies and procedures, fire, safety, disaster, and infection control policies.
