Under the immediate supervision of the Medical Imaging Supervisor the Radiology Technologist, is responsible for conducting routine X-Ray/CT procedures and ensuring all Physician and customer needs are met through clinical and administrative tasks.
Perform X-Rays
Graduate from an A.M.A approved school of Radiologic Technology
1 year of X-Ray Experience required. Clinical Rotations will be considered
Must be Registered with the ARRT. RT required. CT required after 18 months of employment
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
Must be registered with the New Hampshire Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy
Description
Under the immediate supervision of the Medical Imaging Supervisor the Radiology Technologist, is responsible for conducting routine X-Ray/CT procedures and ensuring all Physician and customer needs are met through clinical and administrative tasks.
Perform X-Rays
- Operates all fixed and Portable Radiographic Equipment
- Performs all Trauma Protocols
- Able to assess plan and provide individualized care for patients taking into account the mental status development and physical needs of each patient based on age
- Performs all Fluoro produres
- Performs all OR Procedures
- Performs CT scan procedures per CT Procedure Manual / Recognizes emergency situations, initiates code procedures, and administers first aid/CPR
- Assist patients on and off the table
- Prepares and calculates appropriate dosage and/or administers contrast media ie orally, IV, rectally
- Starts Intravenous lines and administers IV Contrast
- Assists the Radiologist in biopsies, abscess drainages and other procedure
- Performs daily safety warmup and quality control check on CT equipment
- Ensures all computed and digital images are properly archived on Synapse
- Scan Documents in a timely manner
- Trouble shoot as needed
- Push images to other Hospitals
- Burn Cd's/and enter Tech notes into each exam completed
- Ensures timely reporting of exams
- Charges exams correctly
- Prints Schedules and checks Patient orders
- Confirms patient identity with two identifier
- Attendance: Attendance is an essential job function; employee comes to work daily, on time, and completes scheduled shift
- HIPAA: facilitates to maintain patient confidentiality

- Interpersonal relationships: maintains appropriate interpersonal relationships with staff, patients, and visitors at all times. Works as a team member with other departments.
- Safety: Practices workplace safety daily
- Actively participates in all hospital Service Excellence initiatives and trainings
- Attends and participates in a minimum of 50% department staff meetings and signs off on review of 100% department staff meeting minutes
- Completes all required annual education on or before the due date
- Minimal physical effort required with occasional light lifting to a maximum of 25 pounds; stooping; and pick, pinch, type, or otherwise work primarily with fingers
- Ability to effectively manage considerable mental stress
- Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and convey information in a clear, concise and accurate manner
- Familiarity with computer and other business machine
