POSITION: SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to oversee the operations of fabrication projects, with an emphasis on large scale, complex millwork/casework projects. This is a comprehensive role, involving client relations, estimating, scheduling, the drawing submittal process, shop coordination, delivery, installation, and close-out. This role partners closely with business development and fabrication leadership.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead multiple millwork projects concurrently from kickoff through closeout
- Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and submittals for scope, risk, and constructability
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, and cash flow forecasts
- Coordinate closely with estimating, engineering, drafting, production, finishing, and installation teams
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, designers, and general contractors
- Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, and approvals
- Oversee procurement of materials, hardware, and outsourced components
- Track project costs, labor hours, and margins; identify and resolve variances
- Conduct regular project meetings and provide clear status reporting
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety requirements, and contract terms
- Mentor and support junior project managers and project engineers
- Lead project closeout including punch lists, warranties, O&M manuals, and final billing
WHO YOU ARE
- Minimum 10 years of project management experience in architectural millwork, casework, or custom woodworking
- Proven experience managing projects valued at $200K–$500K
- Strong understanding of millwork fabrication processes, materials, finishes, and installation methods
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, and specifications
- Experience working directly with general contractors, architects, designers, and owners
- Strong knowledge of contracts, change management, and cost control
- Proficiency with project management and scheduling tools
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lead teams, make decisions, and manage priorities under tight deadlines
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
- Familiarity with 3D CAD workflows (CabinetVision, Rhino, SketchUp or similar)
- Knowledge of AWI/QCP standards and architectural woodworking best practices
- Experience mentoring or managing other project managers
