Role Description The Teaching Assistant is a full-time, on-site role. This role supports lead teachers preparing classroom materials, and maintaining an organized, engaging learning environment. Daily responsibilities include working directly with children in small groups and individually, helping to guide classroom activities, and supporting students and lead teacher. The Teaching Assistant helps supervise students during classroom time, transitions, and school events, and collaborates with faculty to ensure consistent communication about student progress and needs. The role also includes assisting with classroom setup and maintenance, basic record keeping, and participation in staff meetings.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Communication skills to support lead teachers, engage families professionally, and interact clearly with students and other staff.
- Candidates should possess skills in Working With Children to foster a supportive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
- Candidates must be able to perform the essential physical functions of the position, including lifting up to 40 pounds; bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, and sitting on the floor; and moving throughout the classroom and outdoor learning environments.
- Associates or bachelor’s degree or coursework in Education, Child Development, or a related field is preferred, along with a commitment to equity, inclusion, and continuous professional growth
- The ability to actively supervise, engage with, and ensure the health, safety, and well-being of young children throughout the school day is required.
- Relevant qualifications include prior experience in a classroom or childcare setting, familiarity with Montessori and/or STEM-based education, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
