Position Overview

The VA Portland Health Care System (VISN 20 Northwest Health Network) is seeking three (3) full-time MRI Technologists to provide diagnostic imaging services on a locum tenens basis. This opportunity supports ongoing staffing needs within a high-volume VA medical center serving our nation’s veterans. Assignments may include work at the Portland campus or Vancouver campus.

Contract Details

Shifts may include:

• 8-hour shifts (5 days/week)

• 9-hour rotating shifts

• 10-hour shifts (4 days/week)

• Rotating weekends & holidays

• Overtime / On-Call / Call Back as needed

Primary Responsibilities

MRI Technologists will:

• Perform diagnostic MRI imaging procedures

• Operate and monitor MRI equipment safely and effectively

• Ensure proper patient positioning and safety protocols

• Screen patients for MRI contraindications

Qualifications

• Current MRI Technologist certification and active licensure

• ARRT (MRI) certification preferred

• Experience in hospital or high-acuity imaging setting

• Ability to work independently

• Strong understanding of MRI safety protocols

• Ability to maintain compliance with VA credentialing and privileging requirements

Physical Requirements

• Long periods of standing and walking

• Lifting 50–100 pounds occasionally

• Carrying equipment 15–44 pounds

• Dexterity and coordination

• Mental and emotional stability
