Job Overview
The Quality Manager supervises all Quality technicians at manufacturing plant locations.
A Day In The Life
Every day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by:
- Coordinating and balancing department priorities with the various departments at plant locations.
- Overseeing ongoing training of all department employees and ensuring team members are sufficiently cross-trained.
- Providing support as needed for all manufacturing engineers, machine operators, supervisors, planners, etc.
- Performing audits around the plant.
- Creating work requests as needed to address department equipment issues.
- Working with outside vendors to maintain calibration/service contracts for equipment.
- Considering new technologies for manufacturing and deciding if new inspection equipment is needed.
- Understanding what each role does in the quality department to fill in when needed.
- Writing work instructions for new equipment as needed.
- Collecting data and providing analyses.
- Taking part in vendor visits for qualification and capability assessment of suppliers and for vendors to discuss Quality requirements.
- Leading project management initiatives and bringing plant managers together to prepare for important issue reviews.
What will help you thrive in this role?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Quality Assurance, or a related field
- Relevant quality certification preferred
- 6-10 years of relevant experience (required)
- 6 years of leadership experience (required)
- Experience in leading audits
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and presentation
- Ability to implement statistical tools
