What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifestyle Contributor position at Hubbard Broadcasting?
What You’ll Do (On-Air & Content)
- Deliver on-camera lifestyle segments (in-studio and in the field) that spotlight local people, places, experiences, and products.
- Interview guests/clients in a way that feels natural, fun, and viewer-first (even when it’s live or unscripted).
- Participate in remote shoots and live appearances as scheduled.
- Support show content by helping develop segment ideas, prepping guest questions, and gathering photos/video for post-production.
- Contribute to the show’s digital and social presence (short-form video, posts, behind-the-scenes, etc.) as directed by show leadership.
What You’ll Do (Brand/Sponsorship Collaboration)
- Under the leadership of the Director of Creative Services, work closely with Sales to execute sponsored segments that meet client goals without crossing editorial/compliance lines.
- Participate in client conversations as needed (ex: brainstorming, creative alignment, and segment planning).
- Help integrate sponsored content smoothly and professionally — meaning it doesn’t feel like a commercial break with better lighting.
The Non-Negotiables (Compliance & Standards)
Because this role includes sponsored/paid content, we take transparency seriously:
- Sponsorship identification is required when consideration (money/services/anything of value) is involved, and disclosures must be clear.
- We maintain a clear separation between editorial decision-making and sponsorship influence (“church & state”), with defined reviews/approvals for sponsored content.
- Sponsored segments must remain value-neutral — avoiding comparative claims, exaggerated endorsements, calls-to-action, or pricing inducements unless explicitly approved through the proper review process.
Qualifications:
What We’re Looking For
- Confident, engaging on-camera presence with the ability to think fast during live or unscripted moments.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with a wide range of guests, clients, and coworkers.
- Professional judgment and maturity — you understand that credibility is the product.
- Comfort working a flexible schedule that may include occasional evenings/weekends based on production and client needs.
- Ability to stay organized, meet deadlines, and show up prepared.
Bonus Points (Not Required, But We’ll Love You For It)
- Background in lifestyle content, influencing, hosting, brand work, or digital creation.
- Experience with basic production workflows (shooting on phone/pro camera, coordinating assets, simple editing).
- Familiarity with newsroom/production systems (ENPS/AP, Adobe tools, etc.).
