Job Information
Location: Goose Creek, SC
Travel: 10–25%

Train-the-Trainer Location: Newport News, VA (2–3 months)
What You Need
High School diploma or equivalent and 5 years of additional education and/or related machining experience
OR
Completion of a formal apprenticeship or Associate’s Degree in a related discipline with 3 years of machining experience
Experience in mid- to large-scale industrial machining environments (heavy manufacturing, shipbuilding, power generation, aerospace, or similar)
Strong CNC machining experience
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering specifications
Experience holding tight tolerances on precision components
What You Will Do
Set up and operate a variety of machine tools including CNC and manual lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders
Machine metal parts, tools, mechanisms, and assemblies to exacting tolerances and specifications
Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering drawings to determine machining sequence and setup
Determine number of cuts required, tooling selection, feeds, and speeds
Perform shop math and layout work including measuring, marking, and scribing
Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, indicators)
Fit and assemble precision parts into mechanical equipment
Modify numerically controlled (NC) programs as needed
Monitor and verify quality using statistical process control and other quality procedures
Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and manufacturing standards
