Human Resources / Office Manager Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health, which includes overseeing the company’s health insurance plan
  • Attracting, screening, and hiring skilled craftspeople, managing staffing needs for projects, and identifying future skill gaps
  • Creating competitive pay structures, managing benefits (health, retirement), and collaborating with the Payroll Department
  • Actively engaged in establishing systems for managing and enhancing performance
  • Promoting a positive workplace culture, enhancing communication, and boosting engagement
  • Creating processes and metrics that support the achievement of both departmental and organizational business goals
  • Managing onboarding and offboarding processes, keeping records, administering HR technology, and ensuring legal compliance in fast-paced project environments. Developing, implementing, and documenting services, policies, and programs related to personnel
  • Formulating, executing, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and employment regulations
  • Resolving conflicts, aiding in performance evaluations (safety, punctuality, productivity), and improving employee morale
  • Serving as a counselor for staff, offering guidance, supporting mental health initiatives, and training managers to coach effectively
  • Office management tasks, including managing office supplies and coordinating services (cleaning, repairs)
  • Special projects assigned by the Operations Manager
  • You will be a member of the HTI management team

Candidate That HTI is Looking For:

Required:

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in human resources and office management, including at least five (5) years in a generalist role
  • Comprehensive knowledge of human resources processes, principles, and employment laws
  • Experience working across multiple states with a minimum of 3 years of working experience with California labor laws
  • A stable and progressive work history in similar roles within organizations of comparable size or larger
  • Proven track record in developing, implementing, and executing effective human resources practices
  • Actively identifies opportunities for improvement and collaborates with the Operations Manager to implement timely corrective actions
  • Strong critical thinking abilities and a proactive approach to achieving goals, meeting deadlines, solving problems, and fostering continuous improvement within the organization
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Capable of operating Windows 11 and learning systems like Adobe, Sage 300, and other similar applications with appropriate training
  • Able to type at an average speed of 50-60 WPM
  • Skilled in writing clear, professional, and concise emails
  • Available to work evenings and weekends as required
  • Capable of passing a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check
  • Authorized to work in the United States. HTI uses E-Verify

Preferred:

  • Experience in the construction industry
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred, and HRCI certification is an advantage
