Software QA Engineer – API & Cloud Testing
Overview / Summary
We are seeking an experienced Software QA Engineer with strong expertise in API testing, cloud-native application testing, and user acceptance testing. This role will focus on validating cloud-based platform services, managing quality assurance processes, supporting automated testing initiatives, and ensuring high-quality software releases in a cloud environment.
This is a hybrid role requiring 4 days per week onsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage formal deliverable acceptance reviews against documented acceptance criteria
- Validate containerized application deployments and software component compliance
- Verify cloud-based AI deployment configurations and architecture compliance
- Design, build, and maintain automated test suites for backend services, APIs, and data pipelines
- Develop frameworks to evaluate AI engine output quality and accuracy benchmarks
- Coordinate and manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities with business stakeholders
- Create and manage bug tracking workflows, including prioritization, escalation, and SLA tracking in Jira
- Perform regression testing for new application and container releases
- Define and maintain test environments that align with production configurations
- Produce quality metrics reports covering defect trends, SLA compliance, and test coverage
- Plan and execute integration testing across platform services and telemetry pipelines
- 4 years of professional software quality assurance experience
- Experience testing cloud-native services and containerized applications
- Strong experience with API testing using tools such as Postman, REST-assured, pytest, or similar tools
- Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure concepts including containerization, networking, IAM, and storage
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services such as Pub/Sub, BigQuery, GCS, or Cloud Run
- Experience developing and executing functional, regression, smoke, integration, and end-to-end testing
- Experience creating and maintaining reusable test cases tied to acceptance criteria
- Experience coordinating and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with stakeholders
- Strong Jira experience including dashboards, reporting, defect tracking, and workflow management
- Experience planning and executing integration testing across distributed platform services
- Ability to write clear and actionable defect reports
- Strong understanding of software acceptance criteria and quality validation processes
- Familiarity with AI-assisted testing or evaluation of AI/LLM outputs
- Experience using Dynatrace or similar application performance monitoring tools
- Knowledge of QA methodologies including shift-left testing, risk-based testing, and test-driven development
- Experience managing quality gates within CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with performance, load, and scalability testing for cloud-native APIs
- ISTQB certification or equivalent QA training
- Experience in automotive or manufacturing environments is a plus
