This role is responsible for driving project governance, coordinating cross-functional teams and vendors, managing project health, and ensuring successful delivery throughout the full project lifecycle.
What You'll Do
- Lead large strategic projects and programs from initiation through closeout.
- Manage executive-level stakeholder engagement, including project health reporting and monthly sponsor meetings.
- Coordinate product owners, development leadership, business stakeholders, and vendors to align release scope and expectations.
- Establish and maintain governance frameworks, work intake processes, and operational procedures.
- Develop project plans, staffing strategies, budgets, schedules, and status reporting.
- Monitor project quality, scope, risks, and issues, escalating to executive leadership when appropriate.
- Ensure project execution aligns with established project management methodology and organizational prioritization processes.
- Contribute to departmental objectives through additional project management and operational activities as needed.
- 5 years of experience working effectively within matrix organizations.
- 5 years of experience resolving complex, high-priority conflicts and competing requirements.
- 5 years of experience applying Project Management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- 5 years of experience with system development methodologies for new systems and enhancements to existing information systems.
- 5 years of experience communicating stakeholder needs clearly and effectively.
- 5 years of experience building consensus, facilitating working sessions, and negotiating outcomes across teams.
- 5 years of experience managing stakeholder relationships and resolving issues.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in ambiguous environments while building governance and operational processes.
- Previous experience in a government or public sector environment.
- Experience serving in multiple project or program leadership roles, such as Project Manager, Program Manager, Project Coordinator, or similar.
