Position Overview
Lead high-priority, large-scale IT initiatives within complex enterprise environments, managing multimillion-dollar budgets, multiple vendors, technical teams, and executive stakeholders. What You'll Do / Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project schedules, resource assignments, and budgets using project portfolio management tools.
- Monitor and control project progress, including cost, schedule, scope, resources, quality, and risks.
- Prepare project status updates and presentations for executives, managers, and project team members.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with project sponsors, stakeholders, technical teams, program managers, and management.
- Lead collaboration between technical and business teams, building consensus and securing stakeholder commitment.
- Manage project interfaces and coordination with other agencies.
- Ensure projects follow established methodologies and progress through the appropriate project lifecycle stages.
- Facilitate and manage change requests, ensuring appropriate approvals before changes to scope, schedule, or budget are implemented.
- Evaluate the impact of project changes on business benefits and ensure project documentation is updated.
- Review vendor contracts, monitor vendor deliverables, and ensure compliance with deliverable approval procedures.
- Coordinate stakeholders, clarify expectations, and ensure project deliverables are assigned, reviewed, and completed.
- Oversee technical teams working on system architecture and integration across SaaS solutions.
- 8 years of experience as a Project Manager.
- 8 years of experience managing projects with budgets greater than $20 million.
- 8 years of experience managing IT projects within large, complex enterprise environments.
- 8 years of experience managing vendors and/or third-party solution providers.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
- Experience leading multiple concurrent projects and driving work to successful completion with minimal supervision.
- Experience managing diverse stakeholders and system/business owners across departments.
- Experience managing multi-vendor environments within a government environment.
- Experience providing project management services for IT projects involving Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) technology.
- Experience overseeing technical teams with system architecture and integration across SaaS solutions.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or other relevant project management certification.
- Experience using project portfolio management systems and tools, such as Clarity.
- Previous experience working within state government, the Department of Corrections, or other public sector agencies.
- Candidates local to the Lansing, Michigan area (within one hour) are highly desired.
