Manufacturing Operations Supervisor
Overview / Summary
We are seeking a Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to support a machining department within a manufacturing plant environment. This role is responsible for achieving the daily production program with the highest levels of safety, quality, cost, and environment performance, while driving continuous improvement and supporting the development of team members and team leaders. The supervisor will lead within one of the machining areas and work closely with cross-functional teams to address manpower, downtime, safety, and quality topics. This is a fully onsite role in Trenton, MI. While each opening is aligned to either 1st or 2nd shift, candidates must be flexible to rotate between shifts as needed for training and team coverage.

Manufacturing Operations Supervisor

Key Responsibilities
- Achieve the daily production program with the highest levels of safety, quality, cost, and environment performance
- Drive continuous improvement activities
- Support the development of team members and team leaders
- Maintain a positive team climate and develop team autonomy
- Mobilize support groups and resources when needed
- Lead and assist with problem solving in the assigned area
- Supervise within one of the machining areas, including blocks, cranks, or heads
- Review manpower coverage to ensure enough staffing is in place to run the line
- Support production throughout the shift by working through downtime issues with maintenance
- Address safety and quality-related topics as they arise
- Share manpower and coordinate with peer supervisors as needed across machining areas
- Support training across shifts as needed

- Flexibility to work various shifts
- Ability to rotate between 1st and 2nd shift as needed for training and team coverage
- Bachelor’s degree is required for FTE conversion; candidates working toward a bachelor’s degree may be considered
- Supervisor experience is preferred, but flexibility may be considered
- Automotive experience is a major plus
- Experience with problem-solving systems such as Toyota Production System or Six Sigma is a strong plus
