Job Title: Senior Instructional Designer – Compliance & Learning Development
Location: New Canaan, CT (No Relocations)

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Instructional Designer to lead the creation and execution of innovative, competency-based learning experiences for both employees and external clients. This role focuses on compliance-related training within healthcare and related sectors.
You will play a key role in advancing professional development, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and ensuring consistency in content design and delivery across the organization. The ideal candidate combines strategic vision with hands-on instructional design expertise and is fluent in tools like Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, and Absorb LMS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable, competency-based learning strategies and development programs.
- Guide and mentor content creators to align with standardized instructional design practices and style guidelines.
- Collaborate with compliance partners to help them develop content that is accurate, engaging, and effective.
- Evaluate learning needs across departments and develop course series to meet them.
- Champion and introduce diverse learning methods (e.g., online learning, coaching, job-shadowing).
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of training programs and individual development plans.
- Manage budgets and vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts with LMS and design tool providers.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Learning & Development, especially in compliance or healthcare environments.
- Strong instructional design background with hands-on e-learning development.
- Proficiency in Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, and other course authoring tools.
- Experience with LMS platforms (e.g., Absorb LMS); Salesforce.com knowledge is a plus.
- Familiarity with adult learning theory and best practices in instructional design.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage content development timelines and enforce quality/style standards.
- Budgeting and vendor negotiation experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in healthcare education (hospitals, SNFs, assisted living).
- Familiarity with compliance training for providers, operators, or clinicians.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce.com and other content-tracking platforms.
- Skills with tools like Blender or other interactive learning technologies.
