What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Tech position at HSM?
This position is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System for HSM Spiller Spring Plant and for ensuring that customer expectations are met in an efficient manner. Manages and coordinates the quality activities of all plant management, production and operation workers. Responsibilities include confirming all departments are communicating effectively between customers, operations, sales, both internal and external about quality and all other associated and related plant functions, metrics and programs. Ensure that customer expectations are met in an efficient manner.
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Utilize a range of testing equipment and techniques to ensure product quality and performance.
- Perform regular audits of production processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to address and rectify any quality-related issues.
- Identify and document any product defects or non-conformities, accurately recording findings and providing timely reports to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of quality inspection results, testing procedures, and other relevant data.
- Ensure that all quality-related documentation is up-to-date and readily accessible.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing ideas and suggestions to enhance production processes and product quality.
- Assist in the implementation of the best practices to achieve continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards and other relevant quality and safety regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety and quality consciousness among all employees.

Qualifications:
• Attention to detail is essential
• Must have above average math and communication skills.
• Must have average computer skills.
• Must be able to read and interpret product drawings (spec sheets)
• Must be able to work overtime, weekends and other shifts temporarily if necessary.
• Must work well in a team environment.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Visio, and Power Point) advanced experience required
• Must be able to use Measuring Equipment and Computer Software
• Must be able to adhere to Company Policies
• Must be able to perform other duties as deemed by management
Education/ Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree or technical certification in a related field is a plus.
• Proven experience (typically 3 years) in a quality control or quality assurance role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge and understanding of Lean practices with application experience.
• Ability to adhere to company policies and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation.
• Strong understanding of root cause analysis processes and the ability to apply them to achieve results.
• Strong understanding of robust Quality Management Systems, ISO compliance and OSHA regulations and requirements.
• Some general knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, usage, repair, and maintenance.
• Some general knowledge of CAD.
