ROLE DESCRIPTION
The HSI Solar, LLC Assistant Controller is responsible for supporting the leadership team with financial reporting and analysis, internal controls, and accounting operations, including preparing financial statements and managing month-end close. They will manage daily financial operations while ensuring accuracy, compliance and efficiency. The ideal candidate has a proactive mindset, is eager to make an impact, works independently and seeks to identify and implement enhancements to existing accounting processes.
Please note: This position is based in our north side Indianapolis office during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, and requires regular in-person attendance. Remote work is not available for this role.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Management
· Perform daily and weekly cash flow maintenance and projections
· Assist with the enhancement of cash flow and revenue projection reporting, and proactively anticipate tax liability implications
· Actively manage accounts receivable
· Process and ensure compliance with State sales tax through filings, appropriate funds movement, and payments; create new accounts as needed
· Review financial statements monthly and update entries as appropriate
· Assist project administration with the creation of new cost codes and mapping between accounting and project management softwares; create new product/service as needed
· Process bi-weekly payroll and 401k journal entries and manage payroll and guaranteed owner payment updates
· Prepare monthly financial reports for executive team review
· Create and manage revenue and expense accruals
· Coordinate with business development on financial analysis for existing and future third-party owned assets
· Collaborate with leadership team to create annual budget(s)
Treasury Management
· Initiate wire transfers for weekly AP
· Manage wire recipients, including verbal confirmation of wire instructions
· Manage funds transfers between bank accounts and create corresponding journal entries
· Complete check deposits
· Record payments and ensure accurate transfer of information between accounting and project management softwares
· Review positive pay notifications as received
· Add and close bank accounts, as needed
· Manage and maintain banking and lending relationships
Annual Financial and Fiscal Activities
· Prepare annual 1099-NEC and 1099-INT filings
· Complete annual reporting to State agency
· Process annual worker’s compensation audit
· Prepare year-end 401k data for annual census and questionnaire
· Assist external CPA with preparation of tax returns and R&D tracking and reporting
EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· Superb verbal and written communication skills

· Proficient computer skills
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion by deadlines
· Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and QuickBooks Online
· Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information

QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field
· 5 years progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or management experience
SALARY
$90,000 commensurate with experience
