HSBMA (Hyundai-SK Battery Manufacturing America) LLC. is the corporate name of the joint venture company between Hyundai Motor Group and SK on. The joint venture plans to invest $5 billion to build an EV battery cell plant in Bartow County, Georgia. Hyundai Motor Group and SK On will each hold a 50 percent stake in the joint venture. The new plant created by the two companies is expected to start manufacturing battery cells in the second half of 2026 with an annual production capacity of 35 GWh, enough to support the production of 300,000 EVs a year.
The future Bartow County plant in northwest Georgia is strategically located near Hyundai Motor Group’s existing and planned U.S. facilities. Hyundai Motor Group broke ground on the new Hyundai Motor Group Meta plant America in southeast Georgia to make future Hyundai, Genesis and Kia EVs. The new site also adds to SK On’s existing presence in Georgia. In 2022, SK started production of EV batteries at its SK Battery America site in Commerce, Georgia. SK Battery America, a $2.6 billion investment, has an annual capacity of about 22 GWh, enough to support the production of more than 200,000 EVs a year.

Summary:
The production specialist_Hourly is responsible for operating whole processes and working as trouble shooter a as required. They will train other local operators, will catch some problems about equipment and S/W. They will train other visual inspectors and logistic operators. They will also work toward improving processes, efficiencies, yield and quality as it relates to inventory, accounting, and tracking.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Trainer and Trouble shooter :
Training should be provided to facilitate the work when new workers in charge of equipment/appearance inspection/logistics come in.
If there is an abnormality during operation, it should be possible to work directly in the entire process.
IT(MES) :
Improving MES system
1) Identify the cause of MES errors that occur during operation of the equipment and deliver them
to the department in charge.
2) Checking the result value for equipment
Training
Basic training for new hire
PPC :
Improving MES system
1) Identify the cause of MES errors that occur during operation of the equipment and deliver them
to the department in charge.

Troubleshooting for equipment
Responding immediately to system failures during operation of the equipment

Degassing :

Training

Managing NG Sorter, tray washer and IR/OCV
Resolving the equipment trouble and reporting the maintenance trouble.
Supporting outbound cells
Supporting the work for outbound cells for analysis
Documentation and Reporting:
Preparing detailed reports and presentations for team.
Preparing detailed reports and presentations for other teams (Logistics, Production, Quality, Technology, etc.)
Organize, understand, and compare production material / system data as required depending on needs.
Requirements:
Experience of 3 years in battery cell manufacturing, process engineering.
Basic IT related problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in process optimization and data-driven decision making.
Excellent problem- solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a tea environment.
Effective communication skills to convey technical information and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Physical & Mental Demands
Office Environment: Must wear company-provided uniforms.
Production Site: Must wear company-provided uniform and PPE including safety shoes, helmet, safety glasses, and portable gas measuring device.

Risks include noise (above 90 dB in compressor room), high temperatures (104–122°F in various rooms), and potential exposure to hazardous materials (e.g., heating medium oil, NMP, water treatment chemicals)
