What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard position at HRYMCA?
Hampshire Regional YMCA is a community hub offering diverse programs and classes to our members. We are currently hiring lifeguards to help keep our our two indoor pools safe. Lifeguards are responsible for the direct supervision, control, organization, and safety of all participants in the swimming area.
Job Duties
- Prevent accidents and minimize or eliminate hazardous situations in and around the pool or waterfront
- Observe pool and pool area and take proper corrective action
- Take responsibility for appearance and working order of the pool while on duty
- Perform saves as necessary
- Continuously test pool chemicals
- Develop rapport and good customer service with all members using the pool
Qualifications
- Must possess a current lifeguard lifeguard certification
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification
- Weekday daytime availability required
