Machine Builder / Toolmaker

Location: Novi, MI

Shift: Day Shift

**Pay: $23-26/hour **

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Machine Builder / Toolmaker capable of performing machine tool assembly and installation tasks with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a machine tool manufacturing environment and basic proficiency operating a lathe, Bridgeport, and surface grinder.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret and work from mechanical blueprints and bills of materials
• Determine assembly processes and sequence of operations
• Install floor plates, fencing, upper cable trays, framing systems, and tooling
• Install sealer equipment, camera stations, light screens, and gate keys
• Perform assembly of mechanical units
• Drill, tap, and ream holes with precision
• Use an optical level and other precision measurement tools
• Operate tools such as hand saws, drill presses, and grinders
• Complete on-the-job training activities including:
• Frame stenciling and tagging
• Checklist completion
• Torque audits

• Small ball peen hammer & small brass hammer
• 6", 10", & 12" crescent wrenches
• 12" combination square
• 2 polishers
• 3/8" air or battery-powered hand drill
• 3/8" & 1/2" ratchets
• 6" calipers
• 8" torpedo level
• Deburring tool
• Drift punches & brass punches
• Metric Allen wrenches
• Metric tape measure
• Metric wrench set
• Metric, 3/8", and 1/2" Allen head sockets
• Scribe
• 6" scale
• Tap handle
• Center punch
• Air grinder
• 1/2" torque wrench (in-house certified for use)
• Feeler gauges
