This is a full-time, on-site role for an Occupational Health and Safety Professional located in Virginia Beach, VA. The role involves developing and implementing health and safety programs, conducting workplace safety assessments, providing safety training, and ensuring compliance with Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards. The individual will collaborate with teams to enhance workplace safety practices and promote a culture of safety aligned with HRSD’s values and mission.
- Proficiency in Health & Safety and Occupational Health practices
- Experience in Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) and Workplace Safety standards
- Strong skills in Safety Training and promoting safety protocols
- Ability to assess, identify, and mitigate workplace safety risks
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail
- Working knowledge of safety regulations and best practices
- Experience in industrial or wastewater industry safety environments is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred
- Relevant certifications such as OSHA, CSP, or equivalent are a plus
