HR Mango is partnering with a well-established engineering firm to hire a Lead Electrical PE for their Sandy, Utah office. This role is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer who enjoys leading electrical design projects from concept through completion while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in power systems and electrical design, is experienced with electrical studies and construction documentation, and thrives in a collaborative, project-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering design for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and detailed design documentation.
- Develop electrical plans, specifications, and construction documents.
- Review and approve electrical design drawings for assigned projects.
- Perform or oversee electrical system studies using SKM or similar software.
- Evaluate vendor proposals, equipment submittals, and technical documentation for compliance.
- Coordinate with mechanical, civil, structural, and architectural teams throughout project execution.
- Monitor and support subcontracted engineering services to ensure quality and schedule compliance.
- Assist in developing engineering standards, design guides, specifications, and quality control procedures.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, industry standards, and client requirements.
- Support project teams through construction administration and occasional field visits.
- Travel for temporary project assignments as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 5 years of electrical engineering design experience.
- Experience designing power distribution, electrical systems, and construction documents.
- Proficiency with SKM PowerTools or similar electrical analysis software.
- Experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical preferred.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, engineering standards, and industry best practices.
- Experience reviewing vendor drawings, equipment specifications, and technical submittals.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative engineering environment.
Salary : $120,000 - $130,000
