Dealership Manager
Hartville, OH | Sales · Parts · Rental · Service
Some evenings & Saturdays
Since 1939, HRM Enterprises, Inc. has grown from a small family-owned business into a diverse group of companies with a shared purpose: to serve others with integrity and excellence.
Our family of businesses includes Hartville Hardware & Lumber, the nation's largest independently owned hardware store; Hartville Kitchen, known for its homestyle meals, bakery, and 500-seat entertainment venue; The Shop at Hartville Kitchen, with 25,000 square feet of retail space, and the Hartville MarketPlace & Flea Market, the largest indoor/outdoor market of its kind in the country. Together, these businesses make our Hartville campus a destination for guests searching for quality, community, and connection.
Beyond the Hartville campus, HRM Enterprises is the parent company to Hartville Hardware in Middlefield, Hartville Contractors Supply, Top Advantage Surfaces, Lehman's, HRM Fulfillment Center, Go & Glow Car Wash, and Coshocton Lumber Company. Across all locations, over 900 team members serve with purpose each day.
At HRM Enterprises, our approach is simple: treat others the way you'd want to be treated. This belief shapes how we serve our guests and how we care for each other. We're committed to being the best place to work by offering Sundays off, family-friendly hours, competitive benefits, and meaningful perks like team events, milestone celebrations, and team member discounts. We also invest in growth through training and professional development opportunities that enable our team to thrive at work and in their community.
If you value hard work, hospitality, and providing for others, we invite you to explore our openings and find your place with us.
This is a boots-on-the-ground leadership role — not a desk job. The Dealership Manager connects and leads the Sales, Parts, Rental, and Service teams as one unified operation, and is the kind of leader who shows up for their people first and figures out the hard stuff second.
Your primary charge: lead, develop, and unify the Sales, Parts, Rental, and Service teams in a way that results in an exceptional customer experience and a healthy, growing dealership. This role demands care and compassion as the first response — and the tenacity to follow through on the hard conversations when they're needed.
You will directly lead the Sales & Parts Manager, the Rental Manager, and the Service Manager — developing them as leaders, not just managing their output. One dealership, not four silos.
- The day-to-day operating rhythm of the dealership — meetings, metrics, and communication loops that keep departments connected
- Cross-department processes — unit prep and delivery, parts availability, rental fleet maintenance, warranty processing, and shared space
- Inventory strategy, unit purchasing, settlement, invoicing, and trade show participation in partnership with the Sales & Parts Manager
- Key metrics: sales performance, gross margin, technician efficiency, billable hours, WIP, warranty recovery, rental utilization, parts turn, and inventory health
- Payroll and incentive systems that reward both performance and the right behaviors
- Clear, fair, and profitable billing and pricing practices across all departments
- John Deere and manufacturer training, certification, and program compliance
- Safe, clean, and organized showroom, shop, parts area, and rental yard
- 7 years of leadership experience in a dealership, multi-department retail, service/rental, or related operations environment
- Direct experience leading other managers or supervisors — not just individual contributors
- Mechanical and technical fluency — gas, electrical, and hydraulic equipment
- Ability to manage budgets, P&L, scheduling, and performance metrics across multiple departments
- Comfort with dealer management systems and reporting tools
- Strong communication across technicians, salespeople, leadership, and customers
- Servant leadership mindset — you build people up, then hold them accountable
- John Deere, agricultural, automotive, fleet, or heavy equipment background is a strong plus
- College coursework or trade/technical training preferred; high school diploma or GED required
- Competitive SalarySalaried, exempt position commensurate with your skills and experience. Averaging 45–50 hours per week.
- Health BenefitsComprehensive health insurance coverage, including medical, dental, and vision, ensuring the well-being of you and your dependents.
- Paid Time OffGenerous paid time off (PTO) allowance, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
- Retirement Planning401(k) retirement savings plan with company matching, empowering you to plan for your future financial security.
- Professional DevelopmentOngoing opportunities for professional development and growth within the organization, including John Deere and manufacturer training programs.
- Team Member DiscountsExclusive discounts on our products and services, fostering a culture of appreciation for our valued team members.
- Wellness ProgramsParticipation in wellness programs designed to enhance your overall health and well-being.
