Job Summary
The Buyer / Supply Chain Assistant will support day-to-day purchasing, logistics, and inventory operations. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working with vendors, shipments, and ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with purchasing activities including vendor communication, pricing, and order placement
- Create and manage purchase orders (POs) and track order confirmations
- Follow up with suppliers on production timelines, shipment status, and delivery schedules
- Coordinate shipments with freight forwarders and transportation providers
- Maintain accurate records in ERP systems (Odoo preferred) and spreadsheets
- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and updating records
- Prepare and organize documents such as invoices, packing lists, and shipping paperwork
- Communicate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment
- Assist management with administrative and operational tasks as needed
- Ensure all work is completed accurately and on time
Qualifications
- High school diploma required (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, logistics, or related field preferred
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and email communication
- Experience with ERP systems (Odoo preferred) is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Skills
- Vendor communication and negotiation experience
- Knowledge of logistics, freight forwarding, and shipping documentation
- Inventory planning and stock control experience
