Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A Truck Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers to transport freight throughout the state of Alabama. This will include Van Trailers, Flat beds and roll-off trucks. Duties
- 3 years experience required
- Safely operate tractor-trailers and roll-off trucks
- Most runs will be within 100 miles and driver will return home daily
- Maintain daily trip logs and turn in to manager
- Communication with managers regarding equipment and safety on a daily basis
- Load and unload freight using proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo integrity and safety during transit
- Transport a variety of freight types such as refrigerated goods, dangerous goods, flatbed loads, and tankers while complying with material regulations
- Use GPS navigation systems to follow optimized delivery routes, ensuring timely arrivals and efficient route management
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety issues
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo documentation in compliance with FMCSA regulations
- Collaborate with logistics teams to coordinate delivery schedules, manage freight loading/unloading processes, and ensure cargo safety during transportation
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving
- Must pass a drug screen with background check
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical and meet all qualifications of the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations (FMCSR).
- Securing all cargo for transport with chains, straps, binders and tarps.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and hazardous materials transportation regulations
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently
- Knowledge of GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time adjustments
- Experience in truck loading/unloading and cargo handling for freight safety and efficiency
- Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, and hazardous materials regulations
- Excellent manual handling skills for load & unload tasks involving various types of freight
- Ability to comply with safety protocols during over-the-road (OTR) driving routes and local deliveries
- Bi-lingual is a plus

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
