Job Summary:
Under general supervision the repair technician will complete repairs and reconstruct survival inflatable units in accordance to the OEM and FAA written procedures and specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret data, manuals, or other materials to determine specification inspection and testing procedures
- Perform repairs in accordance with the OEM written specifications and procedures
- Utilize a variety of adhesives to patch/repair survival inflatable
- Remove old adhesive debris, fabricate, and sew tears, rips, or damage to inflatable products
- Complete documents and forms applicable to the work task.
- Maintain working area in an organized and neat condition
- Observe and follow all safety rules and policies
- Maintain an acceptable level of productivity as determined by department requirements.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in industrial sewing machine operation
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Able to read a tape measure
- Basic math skills
- Attention to detail and thoroughness
- Must have the ability to read, write & understand English
- Must have the ability to read and interpret drawings, information, and technical data.
- Must have the ability to see details at close range.
Physical Requirements:
- Required to frequently stand, bend, stooping, squatting, pushing/pulling, kneeling and walking
- The employee will intermittently sit
- Frequently use hands to handle, grasp, squeeze or feel; reach with hands and arms
- Must see in the normal visual range of the unit with or without correction
- Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
- Continuously bend, twist, and kneel
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs with assistance
Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:00am – 2:30pm
