Wester Container is a premium manufacturer of paper tubes and paper cores and is looking to fill the integral position of the first shift Maintenance Lead.
Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing duties to repair and maintain machinery, equipment, building and facilities. The position requires broad knowledge of maintenance skills including mechanical repair, plumbing, welding, carpentry, fabrication and a basic knowledge of electrical repair

What You’ll Do:
- Travel between both the Janesville and Beloit locations.
- Install, repair, rebuild and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment used in production and related services.
- Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties.
- Make repairs and/or adjustments to keep equipment in production.
- Rebuild machines and overhaul troublesome components and attachments to involve dismantling, inspection, machining or replacement of purchased parts.
- Perform skilled operations such as filing and aligning bearings, spindles, and/or shafts. Adjust feed and limit mechanisms, gibs and ways
- Perform various activities relative to the installation and location of existing machines and equipment to involve dismantling, erection, leveling. Fitting and aligning operations.
- Perform maintenance on the buildings, facilities and the grounds
- Assist to determine the nature and scope of forthcoming projects and the requirements for completion.
- Perform preventative maintenance on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning units.
- Maintain required maintenance logs and files.
- Perform routing housekeeping activities in the department and ensure adherence to established safety procedures and requirements.
What We’re Looking For:
- Three years of extensive maintenance experience in a variety of maintenance trades.
- Blueprint reading and interpretation.
- Ability to operate various tools and equipment including various hand and power tools, metal fabrication equipment, welding equipment, plumbing equipment and various measuring equipment.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to inspect, test, and diagnose machinery
