We are seeking an experienced General Manager 5 – Food Services to lead all aspects of food service operations for a 609-bed University Hospital in Washington, DC. This role oversees retail dining, patient meal services, and catering operations, ensuring exceptional quality, compliance, and client satisfaction.
Provide leadership and oversight of day-to-day food service operations.
Ensure high-quality delivery across retail dining, catering, and patient nutrition services.
Achieve financial targets and performance goals for both the company and client.
Direct all contract services
Build and maintain strong client and customer relationships, including in C-suite settings.
Develop and execute strategic plans to drive operational excellence and growth.
Ensure compliance with HACCP, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
As the General Manager 5 – Food Services, you will provide local leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for all contract management services at the hospital. You will manage through a leadership team, ensuring efficient operations, financial performance, and client satisfaction, while fostering growth and innovation in service delivery.
Lead all aspects of contract services within the hospital account.
Oversee administrative and management teams responsible for special functions, payroll, and cash control.
Ensure high levels of client and customer satisfaction.

Recruit, train, and develop unit personnel to achieve excellence.
RequirementsWhat You Bring
Proven leadership experience with a track record of managing large-scale food service operations.
Prior Food & Nutrition management experience in a healthcare environment.
Strong client relationship skills with the ability to thrive in executive-level discussions.
Demonstrated financial acumen and success in meeting financial objectives.
Experience managing within a unionized workforce.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively, and deliver excellent customer service.
Proficiency with computer systems, reporting tools, and operational management.
Flexibility to adapt to additional responsibilities as needed.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Management & Functional Experience - 5 years
