Alpha Energy Solutions is seeking an experienced Estimator with deep field expertise and precision in cost development for overhead powerline, substation, and I&E industrial projects in the oil & gas sector.

What You’ll Do
- Lead the cost estimating process for overhead powerline, substation, and I&E industrial projects ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance.
- Review bid documents, specifications, and drawings to identify full project scope and technical requirements.
- Perform detailed take-offs, labor and equipment analysis, cost modeling, and subcontractor/vendor evaluation.
- Build and maintain comprehensive cost databases, benchmarks, and estimating tools for repeatable precision.
- Partner with project management, procurement, and engineering teams to ensure constructability and scope alignment.
- Identify risk factors (location, labor, materials, lead time) and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Present bid summaries, margin analyses, and recommendations to leadership to support bid/no-bid decisions.
- Track performance of awarded bids vs. estimates and continuously refine cost data and productivity assumptions.
What You Bring
- 5–10 years of estimating experience in electrical construction, specifically overhead powerline I&E industrial/oil & gas projects.
- Master Electrician license or equivalent top-craft certification with proven field experience.
- Strong analytical skills and fluency in labor, equipment, and material cost modeling.
- Proficiency in Excel, estimating software (HCSS Heavy Bid, Timberline, Accubid, etc.), and productivity databases.
- Thorough understanding of NEC codes, OSHA standards, and industrial electrical systems.
- Experience collaborating with clients in a professional and organized manner.
- High attention to detail, consistency, and follow-through—you take pride in getting it right the first time.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Odessa/Midland, TX, with site visit travel in the Permian Basin.
Preferred:
- Estimating experience in West Texas or similar oil & gas regions.
- EPC-style project experience (bid through build).
- Established relationships with regional suppliers and subcontractors.
