We are currently seeking an experienced Compactor Repair & Preventive Maintenance Technician to join our team.
Position Overview
This position is responsible for in-house and onsite repair, installation, and preventive maintenance of compactors and related equipment. The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, safety-focused, and experienced in hydraulic and electrical systems.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
- Overtime as required
Key Responsibilities
- Perform compactor repair, installation, and preventive maintenance
- Follow daily work assignments from supervisor for both in-house and onsite service calls
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems including valves and cylinders
- Repair hydraulic power units and electric control panels
- Work with three-phase electrical systems
- Complete in-house repair projects alongside weld/fabrication team members
- Maintain service truck (cleanliness, organization of parts and tools)
- Follow OSHA safety guidelines and company safety policies
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of relevant mechanical experience preferred
- Welding and fabrication experience required
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Experience with hydraulic systems and three-phase electrical systems
- Clean NY State driver’s license required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Compensation & Benefits
- $25.00–$35.00 per hour (depending on experience)
