Plant Maintenance Technician
Reports To: Plant Maintenance Manager
Schedule: Flexible (may include nights & weekends)
Experience Required: 2 Years
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Plant Maintenance Technician to support daily operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plant systems and heavy equipment.
This role is critical to keeping the facility running safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical experience and can respond quickly to breakdowns while performing preventative maintenance to reduce downtime.
Key Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance inspections (PMs) on plant equipment

Diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment and components
-
Respond to emergency service calls and system failures
-
Repair and maintain equipment including:
-
Balers
-
Conveyor systems
-
Hydraulic power packs
-
Electrical motors
-
Gearboxes, pulleys, shafts & bearings
-
Optical sorters & diverters
-
Compressors & pumps
-
Trash compactors
-
Forklifts & front-end loaders
-
Building systems
-

Maintain Daily Equipment Inspection (DEI) backlog

Inspect quality of third-party repairs
-
Recommend improvements to increase equipment performance and production efficiency

Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards

Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Qualifications
-
Must be 18 years or older
-
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen, physical, background check, and MVR review
-
Ability to perform physical requirements with or without accommodation
Education & Experience
-
High School Diploma or GED required
-
Minimum 2 years of maintenance or industrial mechanical experience
Required Technical Skills
-
Knowledge of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems

Understanding of electrical control systems

Experience with hydraulic systems
-
Experience with pneumatic systems (including air compressors)

Ability to safely operate tools and repair equipment

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Work Environment

Frequent lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting

Exposure to noise, dust, weather conditions, and industrial equipment

Physical work throughout the majority of the shift
